The AI assistant: what you can ask
The AI assistant answers from your products, orders and invoices, and only suggests product changes – you approve them.
What it is
The AI assistant is the AI helper in your system that you can ask in plain language. It answers from your data: products and stock, orders, buyers, invoices and marketplace errors. It can also give the answer as a CSV file.
Open the chat from the “AI Assistant” menu item or with the button in the bottom right corner of the page. In the corner, the assistant suggests questions about the page you are on.
What it needs
The AI assistant needs a Google AI key. You get the key at aistudio.google.com. Enter it on the “Settings” page, on the “Artificial intelligence” tab, in the “Google AI (Gemini) key” field. Until there is a key, the corner has no button.
Changes only with your approval
If you ask the AI assistant to change a product, it changes nothing itself. It shows a suggestion with the “Confirm” and “Reject” buttons. Suggestions you have not approved wait on the “Agent review” page, on the “Update suggestions” tab.
For administrators, the assistant can also suggest an automation from a template. Prekio creates it switched off and tests it on your data. The automation starts to work only when you press “Enabled”.
How to hide the button in the corner
At the bottom of the chat window, press “Switch off”. To show the button again, go to “Profile and settings”, the “AI assistant in the page corner” part. This is your personal setting. Your colleagues keep the button. The “AI Assistant” menu item always works.
Connecting your own AI agent
You can connect your own AI assistant (for example Claude) over MCP – the standard way to connect an AI assistant to a system and set what it may do. Open “Profile and settings”, the “Agent and MCP access” part. The next steps depend on your app:
- claude.ai: copy the “Server URL”. Paste it into claude.ai → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Leave the Advanced settings fields empty. Press “Add” and log in with your Prekio account. You do not need a key.
- Claude Code or Claude Desktop: press “Generate key”. Copy the command that Prekio shows. Prekio shows the key only once.
Products and changes that an agent creates wait on the “Agent review” page until you approve them.
